The Trustmark Companies Extends Health Coverage to Graduating College Students Ahead of the Healthcare Reform Provision
Implementing Healthcare Reform

The Trustmark Companies is proactively extending health insurance coverage to graduating college students and other adult dependent children currently enrolled in a health plan with the Trustmark Companies. This extension occurs prior to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act provision going into effect September 23 of this year.

Rather than wait until the fall, The Trustmark Companies is accelerating the implementation of certain aspects of the provision, making them available as of June 1, 2010. This ensures graduating college students maintain health insurance coverage without falling into the ranks of the uninsured.

Please direct any questions regarding this extension of coverage to your Trustmark representative.

How the Provision Affects the Administration of Your Health Plan

  • Graduating college students losing their student status beginning June 1 and those dependents up to age 26 currently insured under the plan automatically fall under this extended dependent coverage policy.
  • Dependents not currently enrolled will be invited to rejoin the plan if they are late or special enrollees.
