Each year when we re-evaluate our premium rates, our goal is to keep the rates aligned with advances in the health care industry, while remaining competitive and affordable. Effective July 1, 2009, the new business rate increase for all Individual Under 65 products is approximately 8 percent.

St. John's Hospital is cancelling its Medicare Select contract effective June 17, 2009, and will no longer participate in the contracting hospital network. Members living in the Springfield, Illinois area can switch to Memorial Medical Center for care.

For new business effective June 1, 2009, children up to age 26 may be eligible for dependent coverage regardless of student status. Also, children who are eligible military veterans up to age 30 may be dependents if they reside in Illinois.
